Calgon, Take me Away
Today I gave Katherine a bath. Our first bathtub was terrible. It leaked. It is in the trunk of the car to take back to Target. We also had received the “Safer Bather” which is basically a very large sponge. I put it in the bathroom sink and because Katherine is so small, it worked great. She looks like she is ready to soak all her baby troubles away.
Today we had our two month check up with Dr. Halsell. Katherine is now 22 inches long (45%) and weighs 9lb 9.5oz (15%). At her last check up (2 weeks) she was in the 5th percentile for everything.
Escape Artist
Mom and dad like to swaddle me when it is time to sleep using their special “Miracle Blanket.” Sometimes I like it because it makes me cozy, but sometimes I like to try to get out of it. Today you can see that I was successful in getting both legs and both arms out. Mom says I would make a great magician’s assistant. Dad says no way, they wear too skimpy outfits.
My 2 month birthday
Today I am two months old. In the last month I have learned to do several new things. First of all, I am able to hold my head up pretty well. This makes me much easier to hold. When someone is holding me, I am able to look all around the room. I can also focus my eyes so much better and if an object like one of my toys moves from side to side, my eyes will follow it. Mom and Dad are excited because most nights I will sleep 6-8 hours at a time. Another fun thing is that I have learned how to smile on purpose, not just because I have gas. (Read on …)
I hate tummy time! It makes me cry. This picture was taken just before I started to cry.
The men and kids
Our great friends, Gary and Alysha Ellis had a baby boy five weeks ago. Tonight we took them dinner and hung out for awhile. Caleb Noah Ellis is quite a cutie.
The Cousins
George, Shannon, Emily and Nathan came today for another visit. They are here to look for houses again. Hopefully they will be able to find something and sell their house in San Antonio soon. We are very excited to have them moving to the area. We all really enjoy spending time together, especially now that there are cousins.
One great perk of their visit is that George set us up for this wonderful blog. If you want a website or blog, he can help you out. He has a web hosting business.
Today I started a new play group for friends who have had babies since December. My other play group is a lot of fun, but once Katherine is old enough to actually play, the other kids will be running around since they are all at least 6 months older than her. At this new playgroup today we had Kathy and Sammy Montgomery, Janna and Robert McElya, Tess and Louis Risolio and Lynette and baby boy Chang (due May 9). It was a great time to share with other new moms.
Me in my swing
This is my favorite place to sleep. I am so glad that JG is letting me use it since he is through with it. Mom and dad are glad too since it is a great place that I love to sleep.
