Me, Katherine and Nana

Today was my first Mother’s Day. The best gift of all was that after a long and complicated journey, Sam safely arrived home from Germany last night. Katherine and I were very excited. I let him sleep in since he was experiencing serious jet lag. So, I went to church by myself. In a way it was nice not to have Katherine because I was actually able to focus on the message.

After church we went to mom and dad’s house for lunch. It was a nice low key get together.

I love being a mom. Katherine brings me such joy. Every day it is so much fun to see what she will do.

The Cousins

George, Shannon, Emily and Nathan came today for another visit. They are here to look for houses again. Hopefully they will be able to find something and sell their house in San Antonio soon. We are very excited to have them moving to the area. We all really enjoy spending time together, especially now that there are cousins.

Katherine in her Easter dress

Today we took Katherine into the worship service at church for the first time. Unfortunatly, it was time for her to eat about 15 minutes after it started so I had to watch the Easter service from the nursing moms room. Between services we met up with some of our friends so that we could see one another’s children dressed for Easter.

 After church we went to my parents house for Easter lunch. Uncle Kent and Aunt Beverly were there as well.

Grammy, Katherine and Nana

Today Grammy and Grandad word (Pam and Joe) and Nana and Pops (Cindy and Bill) were all here. Carissa, Ryan and Ty also came over. All of us went to White Rock Lake for another picnic. It was a little windy today so we did not stay as long.

Sam and I love living near White Rock Lake. We tried to go there on Sunday evenings while I was pregnant to take a walk. This afternoon we took Katherine and Hooligan to the lake for a picnic and a walk. It was very enjoyable. We plan to do it often.

The three of us went to the Dallas Arboretum this morning. We have a membership so we will be going often. It was a beautiful day to enjoy their Dallas Blooms festival though it did rain on us a little bit.

Glenda, Courtney and Amy visit

Sam’s Aunt Glenda and cousins Amy and Courtney, along with their kids, Caroline and Madison came by for a visit while they were in town from Wichita Falls. Aunt Glenda is Sam’s mom’s sister. She brought a very special gift for Katherine. It was a picture of Sam’s mom, Katherine Sue, when she was a baby. It was in a frame that had her bronzed baby booties attached. It is special since our Katherine is named after her.

Tonight we had Richard and Jen Walker take family portraits. It was a lot of fun, especially our feet picture. They did a great job.

Today was Katherine’s first visit to El Fenix . That may not seem like a big deal to most people, but in the Skeeters family, it is a big deal. We grew up eating there about once a week. Since Will was in town, we had to go eat there. We even braved Dallas’ worst rain storm in thirty years.

George, Shannon, Emily and Nathan came for a three night visit. They are going to be moving to the metroplex so they were looking at houses and they came to meet Katherine. Wednesday we all went to eat at Tony’s, our favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant. It was Katherine’s first restaurant visit and she slept through the entire things. Thursday Carissa and Ty came for the day. This was the first time we had all four cousins together. They were so cute. Nathan kept saying, “Baby Katherine is so tiny.”
