4 months old, riding on my first flight

4 months old, riding on my first flight

Today I am four months old. This month I have had a lot of fun. I have done several new things. I got my first professional studio pictures, slept longer at night (between 7-10 hours), stayed in the nursery at church for the first time, got a passport, went swimming for the frist time, went to the Science Place, played with lots of friends, met my Aunt Jaime for the first time, rolled over, was dedicated at church, went to my first birthday party for a friend, and went out of town for the first time. That was in addition to all the normal running around town, running errands, visiting Nana and playing with my friends.

Mom loves that I am sleeping more. Most nights I go to sleep at around 9. I usually wake up hungry between 5 and 6 but then I go back to sleep until about 8. Dad often comes to play with me when I wake up so that mom can sleep a little longer. We have a lot of fun in the mornings. I am getting a lot stronger. I hold my head up very well, sit with support and am starting to push up with my legs. I no longer hate tummy time, but still prefer my back. I really communicate a lot. I coo and make all kinds of fun noises. I really like mirrors and the pretty baby that smiles back at me. I don’t take great naps, but I am happy when I am awake during the day so mom does not mind too much.

I can’t wait to see what mom has planned for me next month.

Today I was dedicated at church. So were a lot of my friends. My friends Bree and Katelyn were also dedicated. Aren’t we pretty in our fancy dresses?

My first swim

My first swim

Today mommy took me to go swimming for the first time. We met her friend Chrys (sorority sister from collete) and her son Oliver and one of her friends houses. There were lots of other mommies and babies.

I took right to the water. We just sat on the step. I also tried out one of the other babies’ inflatable boat. It was a lot of fun.

My new high chair

Mom and Dad put together my high chair this week. It is still too big for me but because it has a 5 point harness, I am safe and can sit up. I sit in my high chair while mom or dad cook dinner or are in the kitchen. I am sure that I will have a lot of fun times eating in the high chair in the future.

Baby Yogis

Baby Yogis

Today I went to Itsy Bitsy yoga again. They took a picture of me and all the other “yogis”. I really like yoga. It is fun.

Three month birthday

Three month birthday

Today I am three months old. It has been another busy and fun month. There were a lot of firsts for me. I went to my first movie, my first wedding, my first museum and stayed for the first time with a babysitter other than Nana (the Thomas’s and the Ossenforts).

Everyone says that I have changed a lot this month. Daddy was in Germany for two weeks and when he came back, he said I had grown a lot. He could also tell that I had learned some new things. I now smile all the time. I smile at people when they look at me and make faces or when they talk to me. Really I smile a lot. I am a happy baby. I also have become much more independent. Mommy can put me in my swing, my bouncy seat, on my play mat or really just about anywhere and I am happy for at least thirty minutes. She likes it because I am more entertained and also it gives her more time to do things around the house. I also am learning to talk. No one can understand what I am saying, but I have conversations all the time. Pretty much we just say “oooh”. I also found something very exciting - my hands. I put them in my mouth all the time. Mommy laughs because sometimes I smack on them so loudly while in my crib that she can hear me from the den. I am starting to be able to find individual fingers too, but I have not decided which one I like best.

I sleep really well too. I go to bed every night at about 9″00 and wake up at about 8:30 the next morning with only having to eat once in the middle of the night. Some of my friends go to bed and get up much earlier, but Mommy and Daddy are glad that I have chosen this schedule because they are not early morning people.

Mom is also excited because I have decided this week that a bottle is not that bad afterall. That will give her a chance to let daddy or Nana babysit more since I can eat while she is gone.

Month three has been a good one. I cannot wait to see what I learn to do this next month.

My first museum trip

A Picasso sculpture

A Picasso sculpture

Today we went to the Nasher Sculpture Museum and the Crow Collection of Asian Art . We went with the Fankhausers, the Ramseys and the Villarreals. Some of the sculptures were really cool. I did pretty well but I decided to let everyone in the Nasher know I was there at one point.

Now I am “bare-y” cute too!

Well, mom did it, she took the naked baby picture. It was Nana’s idea. I am so embarassed. This completes the “Very Cute” pun series.

…Or am I “berry” cute?

Today I wore another cute outfit. It was from Mommy’s college friend Sandra. It has strawberries on it so today I am “berry” cute.

Gosh, only 10 weeks old and already I understand the subtle nuances of language :)
